Food and feeding

Napo corydoras are omnivorous and will accept all foods offered. Give them quality flakes or pellets and a weekly treat of blood worm or brine shrimp.

Origin

South America; Napo corydoras inhabit the Napo River, which is a tributary of the River Amazon.

Sexing

Males tend to be smaller and slimmer in profile, there pattern is also more striking.

Breeding

As with most Corydoras, large and cooler water changes will induce the spawning process. Corydoras napoensis will lay their eggs on the tank glass or on the leaves of fine leaved plants. The eggs should hatch after 4-5 days, once the fry are free swimming they can be fed on newly hatched brine shrimp or rotifers

Expected life span is 5+ years.

Short description

As with all cories, Corydoras napoensis need to be kept in small groups, at least 5 fish is fine. They are a peaceful species that do a great job of sifting through the substrate looking for food.
