This plant will send out runners from the mother plant, on the runners plantlets will develop and in time the plantlets will develop their own root structure. At this stage the runner can be removed from the mother plant and the plantlets can be separated.
This is a very versatile plant that can be grown on pots like traditional plants or submersed in the aquarium. They can grow in the shade of other plants but this will reduce the growth rate dramatically. The lighting levels can affect the number of leaves per stem; in lower lighting levels on 2 leaves will appear on the stem, under brighter conditions the traditional 4 leaves will form.
